We start by talking through the dive options, so the course feels useful for your level,
interests and confidence.

Deep And Navigation

Deep and Navigation are included, helping you feel more comfortable with depth, direction and better dive planning.

Three More Adventures

You complete three more Adventure Dives, giving you the chance to try new skills and enjoy more variety underwater.

Dive To 30 Metres

After the course, adult divers are certified to dive to 30 metres, opening up more dive sites and deeper areas.

Before You Arrive

You can look through your PADI Advanced Open Water materials in your own time. They introduce each Adventure Dive, so you arrive with a better idea of what we will practise underwater.

When You Meet Us

We go through the schedule together, answer your questions and choose Adventure Dives that fit your level,
comfort and interests before heading out to dive.

More Than Extra Depth

You will practise real dive skills in different situations, from navigation and deeper diving to the Adventure Dives you choose with your instructor.

The aim is to help you understand more, stay calmer underwater and feel less dependent on simply following the group.

practical feedback and support throughout the course,

WHO CAN JOIN THE PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE

You need to be a certified diver before joining, but you do not need to arrive feeling like an expert.

Certification Needed

You need to be a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent beginner diving certification.

Minimum Age

The course is open to divers from 12 years old. Younger divers complete the junior version of the certification.

Medical Form

Every student completes a short scuba medical questionnaire before diving. Some answers may require doctor clearance.

Ready To Keep Learning

You should feel comfortable with basic diving skills, but the course is designed to help you build from where you are now.

HOW YOUR PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE RUNS

Two days, five Adventure Dives and more time exploring deeper, wreck, navigation, buoyancy and night diving around Koh Tao.

DAY ONE — ADVENTURE DIVES

11:00 or 6:10 — Meet At Flow Divers
11:50 or 6:30 — Two Adventure Dives
Deep / Wreck / Navigation / Buoyancy
16:30–18:00 or 11:15–12:15 — Return
17:15 — Night Dive, if scheduled

We plan the dive order around the best conditions,
boat schedule and the Adventure Dives chosen for your course.

DAY TWO — ADVENTURE DIVES

11:00 or 6:10 — Meet At Flow Divers
11:50 or 6:30 — Two Adventure Dives
Deep / Wreck / Navigation / Buoyancy
16:30–18:00 or 11:15–12:15 — Return
17:15 — Night Dive, if scheduled

Please note: exact timings and Adventure Dives can change depending on boat schedule, dive sites, sea conditions and your course plan. We’ll confirm the best schedule before the course starts.

YOUR DIVES, PROFESSIONALLY CAPTURED

Your dives are a big part of the experience. If you would like photos or video from your course, we can help arrange a dedicated underwater photographer or videographer, so you can focus on the training while still having something beautiful to remember.

During training dives, your instructor’s main focus is your safety, comfort and progress.
If you would like photos or video, the best option is to arrange someone dedicated to capturing the dives properly.

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE

Answers to the main questions divers usually have before joining the PADI Advanced Open Water course.

Do I need to be certified already?

Yes. You need to be a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, or hold an equivalent beginner diving certification.

How old do I need to be?

The minimum age for the PADI Advanced Open Water Course is 12 years old.

How long does the course take?

With Flow Divers, the PADI Advanced Open Water Course is usually completed over 2 days and includes 5 ocean dives.

Do I need to complete a medical form?

Yes. Every participant completes a short scuba medical questionnaire before diving. Some answers may require doctor’s clearance.

Which dives are included?

Deep and Underwater Navigation are required. You then choose three more Adventure Dives with your instructor.

Is there a lot of classroom work?

No. The course is mainly dive-based, with short knowledge sections and clear briefings before each dive.

Can I fly after the course?

You should leave enough time between diving and flying. After multiple dives, DAN recommends at least 18 hours before flying.
